This has to be the underlying reason for my avoiding any real-life interaction with Adam or Joe. I'm just not that cruel. I mean, who wouldn't be scared at the thought of having to talk to someone so brim-full of demented sweetness?

Before you say anything, these were recorded ages ago.
Joe is a well respected director now and political busking is something he's long since left behind.Podcast #3

During this week wherein we eagerly await Song Wars Volume 2, this is not so much a nugget as a golden block of ore found in a great fissure of the Adam and Joe mine.
There's even a brief reference to a tiny gob which is also featured in Song Wars Volume 1 (the bit where Joe gives so much of himself/cheats with his ringtones).here for a small sum.

I'm confident that the majority of my readership have chattering teeth today and long to curl up with a furry buckles to keep them warm.
You can download a little story read by Adam, for absolutely no money at all, here.

The sound-bipp I had scheduled for today was so mentile that it defied comment and you can only be thankful this flobbed onto the 6Music Blog yesterday afternoon in time for me to reschedule.
Be warned, they talk about a variety of balls and Chris Moyles' milk. If you have no knowledge of a film called "Minority Report" this may seem stranger and a little dirtier than was intended.
Here are further details of the broadcast.
I will NOT be listening live until I get the promised phone call.

I saw American Werewolf in London on Monday night as part of one of the lovely double bills they show in what some ponces, among whom I number, call the PCC.
In order to include the right A&J nugget I need to preamble with this one so that the last bit in the second one references properly. It's not really important but it suits my ordered mind. I am insane.
So here Joe talks about David Lynch's iphone rant.
I would like to thank the man on Monday night who, in the half light of the upstairs auditorium, seemed to be a soul that might be reliant upon the cold slats of a London park bench for his nightly rest. He stumbled in front of the screen in his woolly bobble hat during the first sex scene, pleasantly preempting the London Bobby who does the same thing in shot during the second sex scene. There's nothing finer than apposite audience induced mirth when watching a beloved film.

It's not MY fault I've run out of intro songs from Adam and Joe.
THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE BACK EARLIER IN THE YEAR.
From 23rd May 09 podcast.

I wonder if The Incredible Suit was at the screening Joe is talking about here.
I suspect he must have been.
I've done that "sir, you've made me so happy through my life" thing a couple of times. The first gentleman was gracious and respectful of the kind words but one grand hero of mine waited until I was hardly out of earshot before ridiculing me to his companions. I'm sure it was just embarrassment but I've not revered his work in the same way since.

I keep meaning to ask Dreamboat Records why on earth they seem to have omitted this joyous trill from The New Adam And Joe Song Wars Album Volume 2 available to pre-order NOW.
This is in no way meant to diminish my appreciation, nay love of James The Producerman but here's another lovely snatch from Jude.

Joe really does have a lovely voice, you know. However, he doesn't always see fit to deploy it willy nilly.
He was too busy thinking about what Mr Depp does with Mrs Depp's nipples of a Sunday evening. Some of Cornball's tropes are reassuringly constant.
Adam dun a jingle jongle for this strand of the show.

You'd think it would be a joy to produce for Adam And Joe but just put ONE FOOT WRONG and it could be a life of relaxation for you.Podcast # 4
Of course, they loved Lila and missed her when she left.

Joe pays through his posh nose for some Crystal Skull playing cards in excited anticipation of the fourth and legendary film in this series.
(sorry Joe, I don't really mean to be hurtful up there but we're all hurting, man.....we miss you both so much and rudeness is the last resort of the desperate shunned). #ThoseAreRealTearsInMyEyes

Apparently, Mr Alcock wants to annoy his colleagues with these. I don't understand how this could be in any way annoying, though.

That last one is from a show rather than a podcast. If anybody has better quality versions of the Adam and Joe XFM Shows an entire community would be very grateful to have access to them.
I know of two different versions out there. One is better than the other but they're both deeply compressed. We're also missing some shows. Completist geeks will know the ones I'm talking about.
There's only one more Podcast Intro left from 6Music & it's just too bloody Christmassy to post here in November so I am now trawling the musical interludes from the XFM podcast.
It is with a mixture of pride and apology that I finally get the opportunity to put this one here. Might I suggest you lock up any dogs, cats or small children before playing this. E&OE

Can I ask people not to pass comment about the Joe's little Sea Missile on here, just in case? Ta.

This particle pleasures me on several levels.
Not only does it completely recreate every sojourn I've ever had into HMV but Adam deliciously references one of my guilty pleasures......a film I have seen on the big screen almost as often as Star Wars and that pursuit took considerably more planning than any of Mr Lucas' offerings as I feel pretty sure I was alone in this endeavour. It was regarded as a ludicrously self-indulgent tome but it's worth the big screen for the soundtrack alone. If you don't know the film I'm referring to it will be no determent to your cultural enjoyment of life. I do have the stupidly extended directors' cut on some dubious DVD somewhere.

I don't visit this show with my earholes very often. It was recorded upstairs in a pub during Camden Crawl.
Joe was discombobulated by all the background noise for a start and of course, I'm fed up that I wasn't there (or even in London that weekend, if memory serves) to acquire a proper Stephen! t-shirt. It's a very, very funny show, though.
If you're a fan of urban background noise and film-based waffle, can I point you in the direction of the Picturehouses Podcast?
If you're an iPod/iPhone/iPad Ponce, why not subscribe to the podcast using iTunes?
NB: The competition has now been won but aren't you kicking yourself for not listening sooner?

Adam and Joe's relationship is not so much about give and take as it is push and pull.
Adam is gracious enough to thank Joe for his half-hearted attempt to support a particularly stinky dead end he accidentally wanders into but Joe doesn't accept chill cake when it's offered to him.
A more fruitful tangent was explored when they began to apologise to Bat For Lashes' Natasha Khan for the Stephenage she had endured. It ended up with Joe refusing chill cake again though, despite Adam's change of tactics.

You'll be thrilled to know that Adam worked a little harder on his Fish Fingers song and by the following week, he'd come up with this. (The strange difference in sound is because this was from the Camden Crawl show which included noise from The General Public that distressed Joe so much.)

I couldn't let the day go by entirely without a proper nugget from Adam and Joe so here's something chocolatey* and melodic to enjoy this afternoon.
*May Contain Punches and Urine.
I've chosen to post this today because w a a a a y back in summer, Adam had hoped he would return to 6Music with Joe during this very month. It seems unlikely that this will happen. I feel we would have been told by now and James assured me he would blog something as soon as he knew.
Collins and Herring have been doing such a thorough job of seat warming that their lovely buttocks have left an indelible imprint on the 6Music chairs.
Some weeks have been more testing than others, like that weekend when this popped out of the DAB.
........and so it continued....
That didn't go down well with one of the team as he rightfully felt undermined at a sensitive time. Of course, he would never have known of my tawdry existence if one of his more enthusiastic fans hadn't put his twitnick in a tweet to me but it's always worth remembering you cannot control the strange or meddling motives of everyone who uses the internet.
My motive is fun and nostalgia but if enough people tell me they loathe it, I'll stop.
Listen to Collins & Herring. You'll miss them when they're gone.
Aside: Surely 6Music will find a comfy new slot for them.
I'll be sliding an Adam and Joe spurt into the machine later on this afternoon.
Friday, 5 November 2010
It's not often that I manage to make one of these ridiculous sound pips in any way topical and you could argue that today is no exception but at least it's in the area.
and in the unlikely event that you've not seen this before, here's Adam's No News video with thanks to Paul for reminding us of this today.
Thursday, 4 November 2010
Just a tiny little clip here but it's sweet and once again demonstrates the polarity in Adam and Joe that ultimately drew them together.....blah, blah. Of course, Joe undermines his veracity challenge to Adam by revealing that Mr Bump was probably NOT his first single but a track on his first album....but that's why we love his annoying arse, isn't it?
Should I have warned you that Joe sounds as though he's fiddling with your earlobes during this?
Wednesday, 3 November 2010
Adam and Joe have many talented fans who take the time to animate some of their silly waffle. I've linked Chris Salt's & Chris Bowles's awesome work before but there are several lesser known films out there.
The aspect ratios are all over the place in this post but I can't be bothered to tidy them up. Deal with it.
This might be new to some followers of Adam and Joe and it's enjoyable on so many levels (from Ross Phillips). Ross has provided y-fronts although we know that Adam and Joe usually do battle in the nude. Those pants remind me of the Treadaway boys but that's another story.
"Nutty Room" was Adam's Song Wars choice for the Electric Proms competition last year so there are several live action videos on YouTube but this is pure, unsolicited animation. For those of a sensitive disposition this animation was made from the original version of the song which, for rhyming purposes only, contains 'Patrick Swayse'. That was respectfully changed to 'Kevin Spacey' in more recent renditions.
If that seems too short to sate your Adam and Joe appetite today, you can take a look at Boggins. I'm sure I've seen that mike & background in another A&J animation but I can't remember where it was.
Good grief, you're demanding. Here's an interesting Stephen! alternative. The accents will melt your mind. As Buckles so aptly says in his comment "this is so obviously fake".
This is also from PopNoodles
A little bit of Blessed and Callow...
......a made-up joke
Finally, take a look at this 3D film. According to the comments, this was shown at LA3D over the weekend. I wonder what they made of it.
