Bank Holiday Monday is Adam and Joe Orgy day #AdamAndJoe

That is now the official title for the first seven hours of the day, at least.

I've been wittering on about this for a while but it's getting very close now.

Here's Andrew Collins running through the day although I can't find the page on 6Music that he refers to other than this.

Surely, this must be in the Top Ten of Holy Slottz? #EdgarWright #SimonPegg #NickFrost

Can we really be approaching an entire spacetime earthweek since The Holiest Of Holy Slottz was filled by our beautiful idiotholes? These precious hours are the last few in which the iPlayer will trickle their honeyed potion into our listening portals.

However, tomorrow's 10 - 1 6Music slot is already showing an embarrassingly large bulge of listening loveliness in the shape of these guys, in the same room, at the same time with a mike or three turned on.

6musicnydslott
It's appointment listening so checkitout.

Read what Edgar has to say about the show on his blog (nothing......as yet).

Edgar's Scott Pilgrim v. The World  is wickles and out in more formats than you can shake a stick at (unless you restrict your stick shaking to VHS) and I'd imagine Nick & Simon are conserving their energies before embarking upon the press tour for Paul.

Really hope Edgar doesn't mind me stealing his photo, there. It's just to make it eye catching....

The Best of Adam Buxton's Big Mixtape: Tanned Aid, Volume 1 - Garth Jennings #AdamBuxton (Rpt)

British film director Garth Jennings helped Adam compile a tape filled with music for a sunny occasion. Garth made his name directing music videos for Blur, Radiohead, Beck, R.E.M, Supergrass and more recently Vampire Weekend. You may also have seen his wonderful film, Son of Rambow.

To see us through the rest of the festive week, four of Adam's shows have been lovingly forced into a tiny, one hour slot at midnight from now until Friday. The pods have been cast again for anyone that missed them earlier in the year. You can still read the bloggins page about this show here.

The Best of Adam Buxton's Big Mixtape: Toddler Tunes - Hot Rats #AdamBuxton(Edited Rpt)

Adam Buxton's Big Mixtape this week, could also appeal to little people. It's called Toddler Tunes and features great music that babies and young children may enjoy. Adam will be joined by Gaz Coombes & Danny Goffey from Supergrass, a.k.a. The Hot Rats.

To see us through the rest of the festive week, four of Adam's shows have been lovingly forced into a tiny, one hour slot at midnight from now until Friday. The pods will be cast again for anyone that missed them earlier in the year. The bloggins page that accompanied the original show is here.

I'm so pleased Adam included Nilsson's "Me & My Arrow" in his recent iTunes Celebrity Playlist and I was under the impression he was not familiar with this gorgeous film (The Point !) until the Soap Powder Kings enlightened him. It's a joyous favourite of mine and I hope he plays it on a continuous loop at times of stress.

The Best Of Adam Buxton's Big Mixtape: Oddens (Julian Barratt) #AdamBuxton (Edited Rpt)

Welcome to the first of Adam Buxton's Big Mixtape shows. The multi-talented Julian Barratt helped Adam kick things off with a show dedicated to weird and wonderfully flavoured music in the shape of Oddens.

To see us through the rest of the festive week, four of Adam's shows have been lovingly forced into a tiny, one hour slot at midnight from now until Friday. The pods will be cast again for anyone that missed them earlier in the year....in fact, today's is there now. The bloggins page that accompanied the original show is here.

This is also the episode where Adam gives us his offerings to Peter Gabriel's back scratching project.

Merry Christmas Twitter Folk #AdamAndJoe

I just had to put this here again. I'm too excited to function properly.

Season's Greetings, The Gift of Music And #AdamAndJoe

I'm still amazed and slightly embarrassed when I notice the number of hits on this silly little corner of the web. These have been a desperate twelve months of drought and I've tried to maintain this little oasis to supplement all the joy that can be found on YouTube, BUG, Fansites, Adam's Blog, Last FM and Soundcloud. Thank you so much for dropping by.
Enjoy this season of mirth and most importantly, today's champagne saucer of radio celebration.
I hope you have a lovely time with the people that mean the most to you.
To get in the mood, this ditty from Garth Jennings was never going to win against the subtle might of Chris Salt's Christmas song but he carefully chose those chords to tug at our heart strings and bring tears to our eyes so I thought I'd dust it off for an airing on this exceptionally emotional morning.

Twelve Tiny Hours until Adam and Joe's Christmas Show

Just half an earth day before the show is unleashed on 6Music. If you can't listen live, please join Twitsquadron on Boxing Day.
You should all be nice and cosy by now but if there are a few gifts you've forgotten, there's always the All Night Garage.

From Adam and Joe Song Wars Vol 1.
Volume 2 is also available to have and hold.

Are you a #TwitSquadron operative? Virtual TweetUp News #AdamAndJoe

Listen again to the Adam and Joe Christmas Day Special with your troop on Boxing Day! 6pm to 9pm on Sunday 26th December 2010.
Fairies

The beautiful Wickwox runs a Twitter list for any squadron members to check into for news and solace. It's function has been vital over the last twelve months and has worked as an efficient support group. Troops have been able to gently inform fellow members when the egg in their mouth is getting a bit stinky and remind them that once in a while, the pan hat needs to be removed for necessary follicle maintenance. Radio stations have been saved, toast from countless pockets has been distributed throughout the world's parks to feed the ducks during this chilly season and possibly for the last time this year, we are rallying to the ultimate cause of communal listening.

Because of the deeply caring nature of Twitsquadron members, many officers will be doing their duty with friends and family. They may only have, at best, one ear to the DAB during the live broadcast and scarcely a chance to use their Twitter machines at such an emotional and sherry-oiled time. For this reason, a Special Zone has been set aside for us to meet online and link virtual arms while we listen to our beloved leaders. We hope you can join us on Boxing Day between 6pm and 9pm (Sunday 26th December 2010).

You do not need to be on WickWox's list to join in the fun but she will happily embellish your epaulette if you tweet a message to her.  If you just want to watch the silly witterings while listening to the waffle you can easily do so by clicking on this link for the timeline and if that excites you enough to make a comment, simply tag it with #TwitSquadron and somebody will pick it up. They may even retweet your message.

More insane members should probably set up a couple of search columns in their Twitter clients....if you hadn't already done that months ago.

He's done a blog, he's done a blog, rooty rooty schmooty rooty blogblog blog #AdamBuxton

In case you missed it yesterday, Adam battled through his germs and fevers to bring us the blog update that might just be akin to the fairy atop the tree, the cherry on the Dundee cake, as it were.
Like blogging twins, I too go for weeks without a peep on my Silly Blog and then dribble out the backlog of stuff I've probably already tweeted about, frankly.  Adam doesn't do the tweeting so a nugget from him is like a hot toddy gliding down your neck.
Read it. It catches up with all those unanswered questions. It's even got a sort of Christmas Card thing for you to cut out and keep.
I've had the makings of a new Silly Blog entry sitting in the casket for a couple of days but Adam's covered the important stuff so I might waffle something on Christmas Eve.

I've been telling everyone this starts on 28th December but according to the 6Music schedule, there's one on 26th and that same one is repeated on 3rd January as part of their apparent 'Adam and Joe Fest'. The repeats may well go beyond the dates I've listed but that's all I've got from the website this morning.

Many Happy Returns #JoeCornish

This is the picture that BBC 6Music use for the iPlayer. It's nothing new but I like to think it's the one Adam and Joe would have chosen to best represent themselves. They look like proper grown-ups, impossibly handsome, happy and relaxed. By some coincidence this is the polar opposite of how I look as I throw my latest tantrum at the thought that we may never enjoy another truly interactive show on 6Music.

Have a good birthday, Joe.

Nice

Depending upon your mood, it also looks as though Adam is eagerly waiting his turn for the lady to finish whatever she is doing with Joe.

The Christmas Quandry #AdamAndJoe

For many people, the present exchange and opening rituals have already begun as friends meet up in a boozy revery for the last time before journeying to bosom of their families.

Secret Santa has deployed his inappropriate missiles at the office party and somewhere along the line, decisions have had to be made. The most important decision of the season:

Should one lie about already owning a gift received from a friend?

With only a few shopping days left it's still worth remembering the gift of love and ludicrous sing-songs.

Twelve Podcasts of Christmas

The first one starts on air at midnight tonight and features Adam and Joe plus brief telephonical input from Garth and The Saltman. These will also plop into your box as proper podcasts and according to what James Stirling has to say here, they are repeating Adam's Big Mixtape podcasts too!  I mean seriously, do we have any right to complain about their absence? I think not.

Forgive me if I use these retro-outbursts as a queue to take a little bloggins holiday.....or at least a three-day-week.

Imagine, I mean IMAGINE if one of those songs was available in some legal form on a CD, vinyl platter or a perfectly respectable and wonderfully convenient .mp3 - perhaps even tickled and remastered to perfection (not to mention cleared for the use of the Dave Matthews sample).

Mid Podcast Improvised Music Break Day: Indie Rock Classic #AdamAndJoe

Before you say anything, these were recorded ages ago.

Joe is a well respected director now and political busking is something he's long since left behind.

A very long Song Wars ramble for a Sunday morning #AdamAndJoe

During this week wherein we eagerly await Song Wars Volume 2, this is not so much a nugget as a golden block of ore found in a great fissure of the Adam and Joe mine.

There's even a brief reference to a tiny gob which is also featured in Song Wars Volume 1 (the bit where Joe gives so much of himself/cheats with his ringtones).

It's from 19th January 08 and beautiful clean versions of the Chicken Song and the Teeth Tune can be found here for a small sum.

Cuddle Up with a Bedtime Story from Adam Buxton #AdamAndJoe

I'm confident that the majority of my readership have chattering teeth today and long to curl up with a furry buckles to keep them warm.

You can download a little story read by Adam, for absolutely no money at all, here.

DyerTribe #AdamAndJoe

In the opinion of Adam and Joe, Danny Dyer is quite possibly the brightest star in the actorly firmament.

The trilogy talk continues here.

We interrupt our usual service with a message from our poncers #AdamAndJoe

The sound-bipp I had scheduled for today was so mentile that it defied comment and you can only be thankful this flobbed onto the 6Music Blog yesterday afternoon in time for me to reschedule.

Be warned, they talk about a variety of balls and Chris Moyles' milk. If you have no knowledge of a film called "Minority Report" this may seem stranger and a little dirtier than was intended.

Here are further details of the broadcast.

I will NOT be listening live until I get the promised phone call.

Delicious Lynch Lady Love and American Werewolf #AdamAndJoe

I saw American Werewolf in London on Monday night as part of one of the lovely double bills they show in what some ponces, among whom I number, call the PCC.

In order to include the right A&J nugget I need to preamble with this one so that the last bit in the second one references properly. It's not really important but it suits my ordered mind. I am insane.

So here Joe talks about David Lynch's iphone rant

This was from a show wherein the Text The Nation topic was childhood traumas.

I would like to thank the man on Monday night who, in the half light of the upstairs auditorium, seemed to be a soul that might be reliant upon the cold slats of a London park bench for his nightly rest. He stumbled in front of the screen in his woolly bobble hat during the first sex scene, pleasantly preempting the London Bobby who does the same thing in shot during the second sex scene. There's nothing finer than apposite audience induced mirth when watching a beloved film.

Both taken from 12th January 2008

The Elephant in Adam And Joe's Sack #AdamAndJoe

It seems a while since I've listened to this show and I think I managed to completely forget about the Text The Nation episode. It's radio titanium.

Podcast Intro Day: From Hector White & Family #AdamAndJoe

It's not MY fault I've run out of intro songs from Adam and Joe.

THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE BACK EARLIER IN THE YEAR.

James Bond Anecdottie from a virile child #AdamAndJoe

I wonder if The Incredible Suit was at the screening Joe is talking about here.

I suspect he must have been.

From 26th April 2008

I've done that "sir, you've made me so happy through my life" thing a couple of times. The first gentleman was gracious and respectful of the kind words but one grand hero of mine waited until I was hardly out of earshot before ridiculing me to his companions. I'm sure it was just embarrassment but I've not revered his work in the same way since.

Lovely Saturday Morning Here in London Town #AdamAndJoe

I keep meaning to ask Dreamboat Records why on earth they seem to have omitted this joyous trill from The New Adam And Joe Song Wars Album Volume 2 available to pre-order NOW.

This is in no way meant to diminish my appreciation, nay love of James The Producerman but here's another lovely snatch from Jude.

Popropriation #AdamAndJoe

Joe really does have a lovely voice, you know. However, he doesn't always see fit to deploy it willy nilly.

He was too busy thinking about what Mr Depp does with Mrs Depp's nipples of a Sunday evening. Some of Cornball's tropes are reassuringly constant.

Adam dun a jingle jongle for this strand of the show.

The day they fired Lila #AdamAndJoe

You'd think it would be a joy to produce for Adam And Joe but just put ONE FOOT WRONG and it could be a life of relaxation for you.

From the XFM Podcast # 4

Of course, they loved Lila and missed her when she left.

IndyARNa Jones & The Crystal Skull #AdamAndJoe

Joe pays through his posh nose for some Crystal Skull playing cards in excited anticipation of the fourth and legendary film in this series.

XFM 'Interesting' jingles by request from @IncredibleSuit

Apparently, Mr Alcock wants to annoy his colleagues with these. I don't understand how this could be in any way annoying, though.

Start Talking (Long)

Start Talking (Longer):

That last one is from a show rather than a podcast. If anybody has better quality versions of the Adam and Joe XFM Shows an entire community would be very grateful to have access to them.

I know of two different versions out there. One is better than the other but they're both deeply compressed. We're also missing some shows. Completist geeks will know the ones I'm talking about.

Mid Podcast Improvised Music Break Day: Slide Whistle #AdamAndJoe

There's only one more Podcast Intro left from 6Music & it's just too bloody Christmassy to post here in November so I am now trawling the musical interludes from the XFM podcast.

It is with a mixture of pride and apology that I finally get the opportunity to put this one here. Might I suggest you lock up any dogs, cats or small children before playing this. E&OE

Can I ask people not to pass comment about the Joe's little Sea Missile on here, just in case? Ta.

Did You Find Everything You Were Looking For Today? #AdamAndJoe

This particle pleasures me on several levels.

Not only does it completely recreate every sojourn I've ever had into HMV but Adam deliciously references one of my guilty pleasures......a film I have seen on the big screen almost as often as Star Wars and that pursuit took considerably more planning than any of Mr Lucas' offerings as I feel pretty sure I was alone in this endeavour. It was regarded as a ludicrously self-indulgent tome but it's worth the big screen for the soundtrack alone. If you don't know the film I'm referring to it will be no determent to your cultural enjoyment of life. I do have the stupidly extended directors' cut on some dubious DVD somewhere.

Alternate Egyptian Future Dwellers be warned #AdamAndJoe

I don't visit this show with my earholes very often. It was recorded upstairs in a pub during Camden Crawl.

Joe was discombobulated by all the background noise for a start and of course, I'm fed up that I wasn't there (or even in London that weekend, if memory serves) to acquire a proper Stephen! t-shirt. It's a very, very funny show, though.

From 25th April 2009

If you're a fan of urban background noise and film-based waffle, can I point you in the direction of the Picturehouses Podcast

If you're an iPod/iPhone/iPad Ponce, why not subscribe to the podcast using iTunes?

NB: The competition has now been won but aren't you kicking yourself for not listening sooner?

Podcast Intro Day: Valkyries #AdamAndJoe

I was hoping they'd be back before I needed to deploy this one. I'm not going to lie here. It's not their best but they set the bar so high. Sorry and that.

Chill Cake and Fish Fingers #AdamAndJoe

Adam and Joe's relationship is not so much about give and take as it is push and pull.

Adam is gracious enough to thank Joe for his half-hearted attempt to support a particularly stinky dead end he accidentally wanders into but Joe doesn't accept chill cake when it's offered to him.

From 18th April 2009

A more fruitful tangent was explored when they began to apologise to Bat For Lashes' Natasha Khan for the Stephenage she had endured.  It ended up with Joe refusing chill cake again though, despite Adam's change of tactics.

also From 18th April 2009

You'll be thrilled to know that Adam worked a little harder on his Fish Fingers song and by the following week, he'd come up with this. (The strange difference in sound is because this was from the Camden Crawl show which included noise from The General Public that distressed Joe so much.)

A Nemonic or two....or not a nemonic at all. #AdamAndJoe

I couldn't let the day go by entirely without a proper nugget from Adam and Joe so here's something chocolatey* and melodic to enjoy this afternoon.

From 18th April 2009

Not Back Yet #AdamAndJoe

I've chosen to post this today because w a a a a y back in summer, Adam had hoped he would return to 6Music with Joe during this very month. It seems unlikely that this will happen. I feel we would have been told by now and James assured me he would blog something as soon as he knew.

Collins and Herring have been doing such a thorough job of seat warming that their lovely buttocks have left an indelible imprint on the 6Music chairs.

Some weeks have been more testing than others, like that weekend when this popped out of the DAB.

Happily, their feet are under the Western House tables firmly enough for them to handle this with aplomb........

........and so it continued....

I've made a point of not posting my daily byte while Collins and Herring are on air after I insensitively did so early in their tenure.

That didn't go down well with one of the team as he rightfully felt undermined at a sensitive time. Of course, he would never have known of my tawdry existence if one of his more enthusiastic fans hadn't put his twitnick in a tweet to me but it's always worth remembering you cannot control the strange or meddling motives of everyone who uses the internet.

My motive is fun and nostalgia but if enough people tell me they loathe it, I'll stop.

Listen to Collins & Herring. You'll miss them when they're gone.

Aside: Surely 6Music will find a comfy new slot for them.

I'll be sliding an Adam and Joe spurt into the machine later on this afternoon.

Some NUJ members may need their pensions sooner than others #AdamAndJoe

It's not often that I manage to make one of these ridiculous sound pips in any way topical and you could argue that today is no exception but at least it's in the area.

From 18th April 2009

and in the unlikely event that you've not seen this before, here's Adam's No News video with thanks to Paul for reminding us of this today.

First singles ever bought #AdamAndJoe

Just a tiny little clip here but it's sweet and once again demonstrates the polarity in Adam and Joe that ultimately drew them together.....blah, blah.  Of course, Joe undermines his veracity challenge to Adam by revealing that Mr Bump was probably NOT his first single but a track on his first album....but that's why we love his annoying arse, isn't it?

From 23rd August 2008

Should I have warned you that Joe sounds as though he's fiddling with your earlobes during this?
